STALL STUFF:

  1. Things said to see what the other person will say.
  2. The language used by politicians.
  3. All conversation between spoons. Example: Seeing Mr. Jones leave his office, you enter and ask his stenographer this question: "Is Mr. Jones in?" (See Piffle, Pink Tea, Four o'Clock.)
