Ashramavasika Parva relates the eventual deaths of Dhritarashtra, Gandhari and Kunti in a forest fire when they are living in a hermitage in the Himalayas. Vidura predeceases them and Sanjaya, on Dhritarashtra's bidding, goes to live in the higher Himalayas.
